The final preseason NFL cut day was not kind to a lot of former Knights.

Pro teams had to cut their rosters to 53 players during the weekend, leaving a lot of Knights out in the cold. Many earned spots on practice squads and others should still be picked up by other teams. Here’s a look at where former UCF players stand:

CB Joe Burnett was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers

Burnett is loved among UCF fans, but he had a rocky run with the Steelers and made mistakes at inopportune times. Pittsburgh media reports indicate Burnett cannot be placed on the Steelers’ practice squad. It is unclear whether he will earn a spot with another team.

The Cincinnati Bengals cut Rashad Jeanty after he failed a physical, a move his agent denounced while questioning the medical advice provided by the team.

Kevin Smith, a player on the Detroit Lions’ bubble, made the final roster.

Safety Atari Bigby stays on Green Bay Packers’ roster, but will miss at least six games after ankle surgery.

OL Patrick Brown was cut by the Carolina Panthers, but he was added to the New York Jets’ practice squad.

Defensive tackle Leger Douzable remains on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ roster as expected.

Tight end Michael Gaines was cut during the preseason by the Houston Texans and remains a free agent.

Safety Michael Greco was cut by the Giants and remains a free agent after suffering a knee injury.

Offensive lineman Cornell Green is one of the veterans on the Buffalo Bills’ roster.

Tight end Darcy Johnson was released by the St. Louis Rams and is a free agent.

– Of course wide receiver Brandon Marshall is still with the Miami Dolphins. The big news is that newlywed Marshall seems happy. (Former Knight Mike Sims-Walker was his best man.)

Kicker Matt Prater remains a member of the Denver Broncos roster.

Safety Sha’reff Rashad narrowly missed the Giants’ final roster, but he was added to the team’s practice squad and will be the first player activated if a safety is injured.

– Veteran cornerback Asante Samuels remains with the Philadelphia Eagles. He turned heads by granting a rare interview to the Delaware News Journal, lashing out at the media and Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

Mike Sims-Walker remains a key part of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver rotation.

Josh Sitton is developing into an elite offensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers.

– The player the Knights probably miss the most right now, Torell Troup, is doing well with the Buffalo Bills and should be part of the team’s defensive line rotation.
